Review: My home office sit-stand desk

Home office space with computer, desk, keyboard, office chair

My home office space featuring a sit-stand desk.

Like many office professionals, pre-COVID pandemic I was schlepping into the CBD five days a week to sit at my desk, spend eight hours on my computer, and go home again.

A silver lining of the pandemic has been increased flexibility in the workplace - specifically, working from home.

The organisation I work for introduced a hybrid work policy in late 2022. With my partner and I working from home at least two days per week, we decided it was time to upgrade our home office.

Top of the priority list was sit-stand desks for both of us - because no one likes sitting at a desk for eight hours! So after a few conversations, we decided that we wanted sit-stand desks that had:

  1. A drawer (think pens, notepads etc. - we wanted to be able to keep the space tidy)

  2. A USB charger (I can't tell you the last time my phone battery made it through a whole day without a bit of a top-up)

  3. And ideally, were white (we figure we will take these with us to our next home, and we wanted something neutral to work with future decor)

After much searching online (and a couple of trips to Office Works), we eventually ordered Tango Electric Sit Stand Desks from Ergo Furniture, as it ticked all our boxes.

Delivery was super quick (they arrived the day after we ordered them), and assembly was easy. These desks also come with a three-year warranty for peace of mind.

The desks look great, and everything works well. The drawer isn't large (660mm wide and 320mm deep), but it is still big enough to fit all the essentials, meaning it's easy to keep my desk clutter-free.

The desk features a shallow drawer with enough to hold the essentials.

The desk has four buttons to pre-set preferred heights, and the height ranges from 720mm to 1220mm. Another great feature is the two USB ports and one USB-C port.

Save your preferred height to easily move between sit/stand heights. The desk also features USB and UBS-C ports for easy device charging.

I was pretty happy with my work-from-home days before, but our refreshed office space with our new sit-stand desks has taken it to a whole new level.
