Review: New Zimmermann swimmers for summer

Pair of black gingham bikinis next to a pair of sunglasses and a hat

The Jeannie Gingham Tie Bikini from Zimmermann.

I’ve always been a summer girl. I love the long days and the balmy nights, eating delicious fresh fruit and cooking easy barbecue dinners. It reminds me of beach holidays, reading books and time spent with family.

As this summer rolled around, I completed a wardrobe clean-out. As a result, I discovered it was time for some new swimmers - preferably before our beach holiday.

I jumped online to peruse my options. I was feeling pretty uninspired until I checked the Zimmermann website.

Fortunately, the Boxing Day sales had just started, and I was able to pick up two cute pairs for an excellent price!

Both pairs arrived the morning we were leaving for our beach holiday, so I was able to pack them and take them with me and wore both pairs a couple of times during our break.

Price

Originally $240, purchased for $145.

Likes:

  1. Gingham print - very cute

  2. Comes with removable straps

Dislikes:

  1. Tie-side bottoms - in my experience, tie sides are not great for swimming in the surf - so these are better suited for pools!

Price

Originally $220, purchased for $110.

Likes:

  1. The colour - so fun!

  2. The fit - I love the shape of the bottoms, very flattering.

Dislikes:

  1. The terry fabric may be a bit thick/warm for some, but I didn’t mind it

  2. Straps are not adjustable

In conclusion, two cute, well-made, and nice-fitting pairs of swimmers should last me a couple of seasons. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have paid full price for them - but the sale price made them great value for money.
